Training Centre in Communication partners with Writinghub Africa to produce academic and scientific videos for Social Media platforms

Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa) today announced a collaboration with WritingHub Africa Limited, also known as ‘WHAL’ aimed at bringing science and scholarly communication to a broader audience. 

Both organizations have been keen on mentoring and building the capacities of scholars on improving their research output discoverability and plan to increase the scope of outreach through the co-creation of content on various topics related to Academia and Research which will then be shared on social media platforms.

“Using social media to mentor scientists in the research lifecycle, particularly in scholarly communication, is an innovative way to reach out to early career researchers and an easy way to demystify the process ,” remarked Ms Joy Owango of Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa).

“We need to demystify scholarly and scientific communication and utilize the ‘unconventional’ communication channels to reach more scholars, particularly the budding ones’,” said Nicholas Outa of WritingHub Africa.

The scholarly community is increasingly embracing social media in their professional lives especially because of its ease in use for communicating and disseminating information, thus the organizations believe that this will be an incredible resource in providing guidelines on how to navigate the research life cycle and access other topics in the scientific realm.
