Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa) and CABI Agriculture & Bioscience is pleased to announce a new editor training and mentoring program aimed to give new editors the skills and knowledge they need for upcoming editorial board positions. Being on an editorial board is a significant accomplishment. It assists in enhancing the researcher’s reputation in their industry and may pave the way for future editorial leadership positions.
This programme follows the success of a series of workshops that were held on 21st November and 13th December, 2022 on Bias in Peer Review aimed at providing an opportunity for the CABI early career researchers and editorial board members to reflect on the different biases towards peer review and share their views on how these can be mitigated or dismantled. The training will be conducted through live, interactive online workshops followed by a mentorship opportunity, supported by a current member of the CABI Agriculture and Bioscience Editorial Board. Ten individuals will be selected and matched with a suitable mentor based on subject area. Mentees will gain hands-on experience of handling submitted manuscripts through the peer-review process. This opportunity will be afforded to those who attend all the three workshops which will be on the following dates:
