Our approach in working with the institutes is bring together the research and library units in supporting their respective research or academic communities. The same is applied when working with governments. It is essential that library consortia, research and granting councils work together in supporting their academic communities. It is this #SDG17 philosophy that we use when working with our partners.
Peer to Peer Learning on Open Access Transformative Agreements
Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa), the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the Open Access 2020 Initiative (OA2020) came together to host a series of peer-to-peer learning workshops on Open Access Agreements.
Recipients of this peer to peer learning were African library consortia with the objective of knowledge sharing from similar consortia from the Global North. The peer-to-peer learning approach was essential as consortia need to learn from each other and seek ways on how they can make better choices when it comes to investing in open access.
